Google Maps and Directions to Your Business Overview of this week's e-Newsletter Did
you know that with Google Maps you can can offer directions and a map
to your place of business completely on your website? This week I'm
going to go over what Google Maps has to offer in the form of a map and
directions to your visitors. What is Google Maps? Overview of what Google Maps is. Google
Maps is a free web-based mapping application that can be used for more
than just showing an interactive map. This mapping service actually
powers many third-party map application through out the Internet. With
Google Maps a web developer can create some amazing applications. To
check out some of those applications visit the following websites. maps.google.com
weather map (weatherbonk.com)
cell phone signal map (signalmap.com) View Our Map and Directions Demo
View our demo of the Google Map and driving directions application we built.
As a special feature this week I've created a demo page were you can
view an interactive demonstration of an application that displays a
Google Map and driving directions to a place of business all within our
own web page.
Click here to view this demo. How to get Google Maps and Directions...
on Your Website? How you can have Google Maps and directions on your website. Because
Google Maps is a free web-based embeddable map application. It can
easily be place/embedded into any website. Natively, as part of Google
Map's pre-designed functions, Google Map includes the ability to
generate and display driving directions. All that's required is a web
designer/developer to get these codes from the Google Map Developer
Website and format it to your location and presto you've got a map and
driving directions on your website.
What makes this really unique is there is no need to have your
website visitors navigate away from your site in order to view the map
or directions. Everything is done seamlessly on your own website.
Therefore it's a great feature to offer web visitors if your
business is one that requires customers, patients, or clients to travel
to your location. Now instead of having to give directions to people
over the phone, ect... you can refer them to your website and know they
will get exact correct directions with a map.
