How do Google Ads Work? Overview of this week's e-Newsletter This
week I'm going to give an overview of Google Ads. I'll go over how they
work and give you a few pointers and tips on using these Ads to
generate more customers. As well I've added an example of a website we
built that uses these ads to generate income. First, What Are Google Ads? What Google Ads are. Google
Ads are a text, graphical, or video advertisement that shows on
Google's search results and on any other website opting in to display
Google's ads. If ads are available, You will notice these ads on Google
as being located on the left hand side when you search for a topic and
sometimes at the top of the search results in a light pink/red box. These
ads are created by an advertiser signing up with Google and creating an
account. Once an account is setup the advertiser bids on the max price
they are willing to pay per each time someone clicks on their ad. Advertisers only pay for ad placement if a user clicks on their ad.
That means it does not matter how many times an ad is displayed on
Google or else where, the advertiser will only pay if someone clicks on
the ad.
Tips On Using Google Ads!
Some tips on using Google Ads for your website.
Using Google Ads to generate visitors to your website is actually very
easy. But what your most likely interested in is retaining those
visitors as customer, clients, or patients. So I've layout a few tips
that will help in achieving that goal.
- Create landing pages
for each keyword/phrase your ad will show up for. Each landing page
should cover that keyword/phrase topic and provide the view with
exactly what they're looking for without having to click around your
website.
- Research keywords/phrases
before using them in your ad campaign. It's important that you know the
amount of traffic and competition for a given keyword or phrase before
running a campaign with it. By knowing the traffic or number of people
search for that term and the competition you can judge if thats a goodkeyword/phrase to include in your ad campaign or not.
- Use a hit counter software
like Google Analytics (Google's website visitor counter) which will let
you analysis the visitors that view your website, their trends, and
where they came from. This data will help you understand whatkeyword/phrase best work for your website.
You Can Create Income From Displaying Ads! You can display Google Ads on your own website and make money. Did
you know that you can opt in your own website into Google's Ad network
and display these ads on your site and receive revenue each time
someone clicks on an ad that's displayed on you website? It's actually fairly easy to start displaying ads and making profits. Google calls this services "Google AdSense".
Once you sign up for this service with Google and place a small code on
your website, ads will start appearing on your site. You can then login
to your Google AdSense account and see how many clicks you've had on
your ads and how much profit you've made.
A Google AdSense Example! An example website we created using Google's ad program. Below
is an website we've created that uses Google's ad program (AdSense) and
generates profits just from people visiting the website and clicking on
the ads.
